Jan Cooper is the head of Cooper Studios, Pump Records and is one of Canada's top vocal coaches. He has worked with many of the industry's top producers and writers, including Loverboy, Whitesnake, Grammy award-winning producer Bob Rock, Alex Wong of So You Think You Can Dance, Lisa Brockop, and US5 among many others.

Jan acts as a representative for bands at the world music trade shows MIDEM in Cannes for the past 29 years as well as Berlin's Popkomm.

He attended Julliard School of Music workshops and was a high school teacher for eight years. Jan also sang in his own band for 20 years and has been involved in musical theatre both on stage and as a director. He judged at international singer/songwriter competitions in Canada as well as in Belarus, Romania, Baton Rouge, and Cairo. Jan is the inventor of Karaoke Speech which reduces one's accent, as well as, teaches sentence structure while having fun.

Education: 5th-year degree in Early Childhood Education from UBC

Theatre Background: Lead actor in Godspell at QE theatre with Jeff Hyslop as Jesus

Produced and directed High School productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Your A Good Man Charlie Brown, The Miracle Worker, and Rent, Plus two original productions, one of which had Alex Wong singing and dancing.

My Philosophy: If you can speak. You can sing. I have taken so-called non-singers & trained them to sing and sing well.

Jack Cooper graduated from London Teacher's College and received his B.Ed from University of Manitoba. He has 34 years of teaching experience in Alberta and the Northwest Territories.  For the past eight years Jack has been working with MACCA and MLA Shane Thompson to bring his workshops to communities in the Western Arctic including NWT-Tuktoyaktuk, Trout Lake ,Betchoko , Kakisa

Nahhanni Butte ,  Ft. Liard ,  Ft. Providence,  Hay River Native School  (Chief Sunrise)   Jean Marie River , Ft. Simpson, Alberta Treaty Schools-Drift Pile,Napeweaw,        Atikameg   Frog Lake,  Swan River ,  Pakan (White Fish Lake) ,  Sturgeon Lake , Saskatchewan-Chief Taylor Elementary.

His teaching focuses on writing, movement, and vocal performance. He approaches lessons in a way that lets students have fun, build confidence, tell stories, show emotion, and learn to express themselves.

Awards and Nominations

 This is an award given to one person in each province and territory. Jan and Jack also have been honoured by the Govt. of The Northwest Territories for the music work, they did in all the western Arctic Native Schools.
