Jan Cooper is the head of Cooper Studios, Pump Records and is one of Canada's top vocal coaches. He has worked with many of the industry's top producers and writers, including Loverboy, Whitesnake, Grammy award winning producer Bob Rock, Alex Wong of So You Think You Can Dance, Lisa Brockop, and US5 among many others.
Jan acts as a representative for bands at the world music trade show MIDEM in Cannes for the past 25 years as well as Berlin's Popkomm.
He attended Julliard School of Music workshops and was a high school teacher for eight years. Jan also sang in his own band for 20 years and has been involved in musical theater both on stage and as a director. He judged at international singer/songwriter competitions in Canada as well as in Belarus, Romania, Baton Rouge and Cairo. Jan is the inventor of Karaoke Speech which reduces ones accent, as well as, teaches sentence structure while having fun.
Jack Cooper graduated from London Teacher's College and received his B.Ed from University of Manitoba. He has 34 years of teaching experience in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. For the past eight years Jack has been working with MACCA and MLA Shane Thompson to bring his workshops to communities in the Western Arctic including Decho, South Slave, Betchko, and Yellowknife. More recently he has done the same for First Nation Reserves in Alberta-Kehewin, Frog Lake and White Fish Lake as well as face time lessons in Tuktoyyuktuk and Hayriver.
His teaching focuses on writing, movement, and vocal performance. He approaches lessons in a way that lets students have fun, build confidence, tell stories, show emotion, and learn to express themselves.
